About Drag Me to the Stage

Drag Me to the Stage LLC is one of the nation's leading producers of drag entertainment, producing drag brunches, bingo events, concerts, festivals, Pride celebrations, and special events throughout the United States.

We're looking for a creative, organized, and self-driven marketing professional who loves storytelling, social media, and live entertainment. If you're someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, working independently, and helping build an exciting entertainment brand, we'd love to meet you.

Position Summary

This is a remote, part-time independent contractor (1099) position averaging approximately 10 hours per week. You'll work on your own schedule while meeting agreed-upon deadlines and campaign goals.

You will oversee Drag Me to the Stage's public-facing marketing efforts, working directly with the company's partners to execute marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales, strengthen our brand, and help book future events.

Whenever possible, you'll also attend Drag Me to the Stage events to capture photos and video that can be repurposed into compelling promotional content for both ticket buyers and venue partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update all public-facing content on the Drag Me to the Stage website (Squarespace)

  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging social media content

  • Work with the partners to develop marketing calendars and promotional campaigns

  • Promote upcoming shows, ticket sales, and special events

  • Manage our Constant Contact email marketing and SMS marketing lists

  • Design and send email newsletters and SMS campaigns

  • Coordinate marketing projects using Monday.com

  • Capture photo and video content at live events whenever possible

  • Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other digital platforms

  • Monitor audience engagement and assist with community management

  • Maintain consistent branding across all marketing channels

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have experience with:

  • Meta Business Suite

  • Facebook marketing

  • Instagram marketing

  • Content scheduling and social media management

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Basic photo and video editing

  • Working independently while managing deadlines

Experience with the following platforms is highly desirable:

  • Squarespace

  • Constant Contact (Email & SMS Marketing)

  • Monday.com

  • Reddit marketing

  • Google Ads

Bonus Qualifications

These skills are a plus, but not required:

  • Graphic design

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)

  • Photography and videography

  • Copywriting

  • SEO and digital marketing analytics

Compensation

This position is compensated through a monthly retainer based on an anticipated workload of approximately 10 hours per week.

Compensation is equivalent to approximately $22–$35 per hour, depending on the experience, creativity, technical skills, and overall value you bring to the team.

This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position and does not include employee benefits.

Hiring Process

Selected applicants will participate in an initial interview. Finalists will then be invited to complete a paid practical exercise designed to simulate the type of work performed in this role.

Finalists will receive marketing assets from an upcoming Drag Me to the Stage event, along with photos and video footage from previous productions. Using these materials, candidates will be asked to create a small sample marketing campaign, which may include items such as:

  • Social media posts

  • A short-form promotional video (Reel/Short)

  • An email marketing campaign

  • An SMS marketing message

  • A brief promotional content calendar

The exercise is intended to showcase each candidate's creativity, writing ability, marketing instincts, organization, and familiarity with digital marketing tools. Candidates will be compensated for the time spent completing this assignment.
